Maxxis ACU British Motocross Champs 2008

Motox photographyThe ExeSight Photography team enjoyed great conditions and world class motocross action at the third round of the Maxxis British Championship 2008.

Beautiful spring weather drew large crowds to the circuit near Torrington, Devon and recent rain meant that the muddy conditions were tough on the riders, but created some spectacular racing. The ACU British Championships were last held at the Torrington circuit in 2001, since then the ACU employed Justin Barclay to put the finishing touches to the track by constructing a new set of nine whoops to replace a table top and some other technical sections.

Billy MacKenzie - CAS Honda and Stephen Sword - Molson Kawasaki took top honours, in the MX1 and MX2 classes respectively. In difficult conditions MacKenzie maintained his 100% record to extend his reign to six wins from six motos. The Honda rider was in awesome form around the muddy circuit, topping qualifying by over eight seconds before taking two start to flag victories in some style. Billy's winning margin of one minute and twenty one seconds in the second moto clearly showed the difference between himself and his rivals on a heavily rutted track. Tom Church - Molson Kawasaki and Mark Huklebridge - Motoextreme Kawasaki finished second and third overall in the MX1 class respectively.

The ExeSight team captured some stunning images on the day. On location our photographers can provide reportage-style coverage of your sporting event from multiple angles and can work to specific instructions to capture key moments during the assignment.
